The Cause:
What is ANRF, and what is your goal?
I
am racing for the Arthritis National Research Foundation. The goal of the ANRF is to spread awareness, and fund research for arthritis. Over 90 cent of every dollar donated goes directly into research.
I'd like to
raise as much as I can. Ideally I'd like to raise at least $5,000
ultimately $10,000 and beyond. My biggest goal is to spread PsA
awareness though, because so many people do not understand that
psoriasis is far more than a rash and PsA is a real very debilitating
disease.
Why does arthritis matter so much?
Roughly
50 million Americans have arthritis of some form. Many of them (about 1.5 million) have
autoimmune diseases which is very different than the arthritis caused by
wear and tear. These diseases are debilitating and life threatening because the immune system is attacking the soft tissues of the body.
The worst part is that 300,000 children are affected by these autoimmune
diseases! This strips their childhood away, their innocence, and often
their ability to play. The funds raised, and awareness give the chance
towards better less toxic treatments for all of us affected most
importantly the little kids.
How can I help?
There are three ways everyone can help with this campaign.
The first obvious way is to give a tax deductible donation to Racing for a Cure! Your donations can be made here:
The second way is to learn more about these diseases. Education is power, and you have the right to knowledge.
The
third way is advocacy. Through sharing your knowledge and my cause
together we raise awareness and funds for a well needed cause.
